Gratitude.
Now that is a powerful emotion.
I dare you to be depressed/angry/stressed/whatever while you’re thinking of something for which you’re grateful. It’s impossible.
Go ahead. Try it. Get really upset right now (or just wait till it happens next) then take a moment to step out of that anger/stress/depression to think of three things that make you grateful. Could be the fact that you’re alive, that you’re listening or reading to this now or whatever. Just give yourself the gift of gratitude.

It is the experience of higher states that can convince even the most hardened cynic that in fact they have seen God. But in order for that glory that has been glimpsed in higher states to become the foundation for an actual level or permanent stage of individual and collective development, an enormous price has to be paid. More often than not, the mistake is made where simply because an individual has experienced a higher state they conclude that they have actually made that leap or transition to a higher stage. And that is rarely the case. Only with dedicated and consistent practice and committed engagement with the enormity of the task at hand can any individual or group actually make this momentous transition.

“I can hardly believe that such a marvelous site is run by an individual, except as it appears you are kindred spirit, it should surprise me at all. I am very appreciative of this opportunity every day to consult the quote of the day, sometimes I spend an hour reading. I assume you like having your link spread, I hope so, because I have passed it on so far to about 20 or 30 friends...I look forward every day to life, and a little part of it is checking thinkarete. Thank You.”
