BIG IDEA
#126. Do Your Best!
by Brian Johnson

"4th Agreement: Always Do Your Best.
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret."

~ Don Miguel Ruiz from The Four Agreements

Are you doing your best?

Always do your best--every moment.

Try it.

You’ll be a totally different person within the week.

A few more thoughts on doing your best:

"You do your best because you want to do it, not because you have to do it, not because you are trying to please other people. If you take action because you have to, then there is no way you are going to do your best. Then you better not do it. No, you do your best because doing your best makes you so happy. When you are doing your best just for the pleasure of doing it, you are taking action because you enjoy the action."

"If you always do your best, there is no way you can judge yourself."

"If you try too hard to do more than your best, you will spend more energy than is needed and in the end your best will not be enough."

The Four Agreements in a nutshell:

- Be impeccable with your word.

- Don’t take anything personally.

- Don’t make assumptions

- Always do your best
