Send the following Big Idea to a friend:
“The person who doesn’t read is no better off than the person who can’t read.”
Are you reading?
Are you tapping into the wisdom of the world’s greatest thinkers?
If not, why not try to read a book a month? Then up that to a book every two weeks. And, if you’re feelin’ it: a book a (gasp!) week.
Already reading that much?
Nice!
How about distilling the “Big Ideas” from your favorite books and blogging them or emailing them to your friends? Helps you really own the ideas and have fun sharing the wisdom with those you love. (That’s exactly how/why I started thinkArete 5 years ago…)
So, what’re you going to read tonight?
Can’t wait to hear about it! :)
Action Appreciation Attitude Belief Confidence Effortless Effort Excellence Focus Impeccability Inspiration Just Do It Perseverance Self-mastery Temperance The Moment Time Management
So you can see that if you direct that force at several objectives, it becomes divided, and each objective receives a fairly weak stimulus, which results in a slow reaction, or no reaction at all. Do you have a great, ultimate goal to reach that requires attaining lesser objectives along the way? Well then, let the many lie inactive and direct your force at the nearest or first; once you accomplish that, take up the next and so on.
