Moving along the upward spiral requires us to learn, commit, and do on increasingly higher planes. We deceive ourselves if we think that any one of these is sufficient. To keep progressing, we must learn, commit, and do—learn, commit, and do—and learn, commit, and do again.”

~ Stephen R. Covey from “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People”

Learn something new.

Commit to bringing the lesson into your life.

Do it.

Learn something new.

Commit to bringing the lesson into your life.

Do it.

Learn.

Commit.

Do.

Learn.

Commit.

Do.

THAT is the spiral of Areté.

It is obviously and horribly not enough to simply learn something. We must also commit to it. And it is obviously not enough to just commit. We must DO it.

What’s the most powerful lesson you’ve learned lately? The biggest thing you know you need to start doing in your life to live with more happiness?

Are you committed to doing it?

Are you actually doing it?

Good.

Now repeat that process.

Again and again and again and…

One of mine? I’ve learned that I have the best days of my life (literally almost an exact 1:1 correlation) when I wake up early and express myself creatively through my writing first thing in the morning.

I have learned this.

I am committed to doing it.

I am doing it.
