Send the following Big Idea to a friend:
Can you make yourself feel good even when you don’t want to?
…
You know, you’re in the middle of an argument with someone you love or you’re simply pissy at the end of a long day.
Can you make yourself feel good?
Especially when you don’t want to feel good? (You know, those moments when you’re “entitled” to be an ass just b/c…)
I’d recommend you start training yourself to feel good. Even when you don’t want to. ESPECIALLY when you don’t want to.
Some tips?
Move. Go for a walk. Dance. Smile. Be totally goofy. Laugh at yourself. Think of 5 things for which you’re grateful. Pick up a baby (if one’s around ?) and look into its eyes. Pet a dog (if you have one). Turn on some music. Move your body. Jump up and down. Do any # of the infinite array of positive actions you know how to take—the stuff that makes you feel most alive.
Just do it.
Especially when you don’t feel like it.
And NEVER forget that you have the power to CHOOSE how you respond to any given situation.
Life is short. Let’s (choose to) enjoy it.

Simplicity has power. Founding our life on constructive, positive behavior is the simplest, most direct, and powerful approach I’ve ever found—simple, but not easy.
